Driving from Lake Powell, Arizona to the Grand Canyon takes about 6.5 hours.
We entered through the East entrance of Grand Canyon National Park which was amazing.
It’s a 25-mile drive from the entrance to the beginning of the canyon.
The drive is through an amazing forest with wildlife everywhere right up next to the road.
This is what I look like after driving for 6.5 hours 🙂
She still likes me after 5,000 miles of driving!!
Welcome to the Grand Canyon.
Amazing views!
I think I see the Brady Bunch 🙂
South Rim
Scenic locator from 1922.
With my favorite tourist!
Nothing ends a walk around the canyon rim quicker than seeing this guy!!
Speaking of ancient history…
We stayed at the Yavapai Lodge, which may have been last remodeled when the Grand Canyon was formed.
Or you can stay at the El Tovar.
Just remember to keep telling yourself that the Grand Canyon experience is not about the lodging and you’ll be just fine!
It’s a great experience, a bucket list stop, and glad that we made the trip. Stay tuned for the next stop.
Dates of Trip – October 17th – October 19th, 2021
